1 Litre and an explosive

1 Litre of back-breakin' blueberries. And they'll be delicious.
I've decided to make a cookie-crust blueberry pie because Tim doesn't like blueberry muffins and we're not sure if he likes tea biscuits with blueberries in them.
He's not a fan of raisins - so who knows.

I just re-read the recipe and it calls for 6 CUPS of blueberries...argh! I have a litre's worth and 2 cups in another dish....I hope it's enough.
Maybe I will cheat and put slices of apples in there too.....yeah I could buy more blueberries - but who knows. We'll see.

Ok - onto the "explosive part".
I'm going to have to do some research about ticks as I've never came across one until today. I forgot my camera in the living room and we were about to head out to pick some berries - so as I entered the living room...I saw blood splattered on the floor(kind of watery looking but still) and a bug of sorts. After Tim got closer to it - he said it was a tick that had fully exploded itself pretty much from consuming so much blood.
Anyways we think it may be tick season here - especially with us living in front of a very woodsy area and taking them every second day or so to pick berries....
I know that was super disgusting - but if anybody has any tips on how to treat them (besides flea/tick medicene - which we have yet to find here) - that'd be great!

Time to do some research and make supper.

PS Just was talking to the mother inlaw and this is what she had to say about shipping stuff:
" I'm trying to get prices for shipping. I'm spoken to Euro Transport and they are faxing me prices. He says They ship based on cu footage. Hope to get prices on Monday. The post office wants over $ 50.00 plus taxes to delivery that shoe box of toys and she said it will still take betwwen 2 weeks and a month by express post. Parcel Post would take ?????????. If we can ship everything over at once hopefullyit'ss be a lot cheaper. The fellow at Euro transport said it would cheapest to ship from Terminal to Terminal. Halifax to Helsinki. Would you guys be able to arrange for pick up from Helsinki . He said of Euro Transport delivered to your door it would be another $1000 to $1500. for a shipment the size of a regular washing machine ( 6 - 12 boxes)"
Ridiculous.
